This is an advance fee scam. When you deposit the check in 3-4 days it will appear to clear your bank. You'll be asked to use a cash wire transfer service to send money to their 'shipper'. In 4-6 weeks the check will bounce. It's either a good forgery, or the transit numbers at the bottom are fake. The 'shipper' and the scammer are the same person. You're out the cash you wired, plus you get all the trouble of depositing an NSF check. There is a similar twist on this scam with Paypal. With it you're told that the money is 'on hold' until you ship the item, or the Paypal receipts are fake.
This number text us about a an item we had on Craigslist for sale. Asking us for our address, that he would send a certified check to our address. The check would be made out for more than the asking price He would have his movers to come and pick up the item and the extra cash was to pay the movers. As we ask for a tracking # we were told that he was having issues getting one from UPS but the check was in the mail. If the check was in the mail thru UPS then he would have the tracking #.
I believe this # is associated with a check scam.
