2 phone calls one from this number and one from 305-916-3582 both have robotic voice stating they have tried to reach me, mail has been returned etc. They mentioned petition, warrant, execution etc. Throwing out legal terms. Total BS. I work in a law firm.
This number 9144998810 called me saying they where the IRS and that they had found a descrepensy in my tax returns. Told him I was a cop and tracing the number to be sure. And he hung up.
I also received a call from this number saying I was being prosecuted for tax evasion. Odd since I file my taxes strictly. It stated that they tried reaching me via mail but the letter had been returned. I recently moved so I called the number back and it was not valid.
Same happened to me. I received a daunting voicemail but they never said my name. Also I don't file in New York, so I'm not sure why the IRS is calling me from New York or if that's relevant. I filed at extension deadline in NH and Kansas where I have income. These calls should be illegal. It's invasive and unduly threatening.
Um ... they are!
However, do you know of any law that really stops criminals from doing their thing?

I got a call from 9144998510. They did not say anything when I asked who's calling. They hung up on me. I called them back. No answer. I called them again. I heard a lot of scratchy background noise and a robotic voice answered, repeating my name. I hung up!
