Got a few calls from this same 914 area code. I have new Panasonic phones and I can block up to 250 phone numbers. In the future the phone will ring once and then close. It's unfortunate that 250 blocks can come rather quickly.
Received a call the other day from this number. My son answered it and let the person go through his spiel (Police asking for a donation) before telling him he is not the homeowner!
Repeat caller on our DNC registered landline on 08/01/2014 @ 05:03 PM from Yonkers, NY. No message was left.
We set voicemail to pick up on 5 rings. Since robo-callers disconnect in 4 or fewer rings there's no wasted time with telemarketer voicemail.
Every call we get from Yonkers is from a 3rd party telemarketer calling for a charity of the day. These are not legal calls as they are not directly from the charity. In this case I don't believe this is even a legitimate telemarketer. I think this one is a pure scam.
No need for the sarcasm. In this case I do believe the call is from Yonkers. When calls are spoofed and from out of the country my ISP records show the country of origin. This is not the same as what is shown on Caller ID. Yesterday I got a computer virus scam from (806) Connecticut, but it was really from China.
If you read my post, I mentioned “No message was left.” I didn't answer, validating my number. If I were to call back it would be using *67 to hide my number from Caller ID so there would be no point in pressing anything since my number is blocked from their Caller ID. You are right, this would only validate the callback number for more calls from them and other scammers.
Calling back using *67 can get you information that can't be found anywhere else.
