These people are ruthless!! DON'T fall the scam of them saying you owe money or will be arrested. No matter how many times I have reported to attorney general it starts back up 6 mths later. If you BLOCK #, they call from another. They have very heavy Indian accents....and when I said to no longer call this number, the response was "F*** you!" Nice people right there!

Today I got a phone call from a NY number claiming officer John Marshall (how plain is that) would take legal action and fine me 4,300 and some dollars if I didn't "resolve this issue" by paying the 300 and some dollars. I kept asking over and over who exactly i owed money to and they just [***] footed around the conversation continuing to threaten with legal action. They bounced me between 3 different guys with heavy accents in loud backgrounds with limited service so that I couldn't understand all what they were saying. Of course I got scared and raised my voice and demanded to know exactly what details there were against my case. Then they proceeded to say that I was barrating them and being disrespectful and that they wouldn't help me with this issue. They continued to threaten me legally with the heavy fine and "up to 7 years in federal prison, behind bars but do not worry I can help you". Finally as they were transferring me a 4th time, I hung up and called my bank in tears of fear. They reassured me it was a scam and that they couldn't possibly do what they were claiming to do legally.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
