Posted an item of furniture on (West Coast) Craigslist. Immediately got texts from this number with incongruous questions ("Are you the first owner?" - yeah, of a 19th-century table, I come from a VERY long-lived family...).
Offered to pay via PayPal and have a hauler collect the furniture as he's with the USAF and buying on behalf of a cousin, apparently.
My alarm bells are ringing at this point; if this is a legitimate buyer he's certainly going out of his way to appear shady.
Posted on CL in orange county, CA, With similar M O this Rick person said they are highly interested in the furniture. Going to have my hauler come for the pickup. Same phone number 914-641-0333
Beware, this out of state person is trying the same routine on me.

Posted furniture, said a hauler was going to come get it, but they had to send me an EXTRA $700 so I could play the hauler in cash when they showed up.....yeah....sure buddy.
Told them I wasn't interested in being a middle man - they haven't written back since!
I just had this number 914-641-0333 send me almost the exact same text message regarding a Piano I have for sale. They claimed to be working with the Air Force, would have a hauler pick it up and wanted my pay pal info. Really pushy about wanting me to consider it sold.
I called Paypal and was not able to speak with anyone who could assure me that a deposit made to my account was secure from them claiming non delivery and taking the money back. Red Flag number 1. Searched the number and found this site.
I have ceased communicating with this person and suggest everyone avoid overly interested parties looking to use pay pal to buy anything from craigslist.
