I got a call today from 915-400-9941 and it sounds like a recording first of all. The guy said his name is Shaun White and if I or my Attorney didn't call him back then everything would be on me. First of all, what am I being sued for? Where is any of the documentation? And I know a good portion of Illinois legal system and if I was being sued, I wouldn't be receiving calls from anybody other than an attorney or getting court documents sent to me minus calls. Also this number is from Texas. I have never lived in Texas and I am not being sued by anybody in Texas. If this is for real, I hope this guy does do something so I can get any one of my attorney friends to jump on his [***] for fraud and scams!!!!

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
I got one from Sean White ( I am guessing he got the name from the Olympic Snow Border) today and one from a different name 3 months ago same person. I called back and asked for papers and he threatened me. I asked how he got my information and he said it was related to applying for an online payday loan. I know i have not done this in 6 mos. So that is were they are getting the information. Buying it from "help you find online lender sites". That's how they got my information anyway. they knew my approx. monthly income and information I had only given to that site!
This is a scam located in India, as such the scammers are beyond the reach of US law. They are spoofing local US phone numbers. Call blocker is your best bet.
