It's definitely a scam because I never owned a Harris Bank account.
Scam artist managed to illegally obtain mass lists of cell phone numbers and send a text out to hundreds of people in a phishing attempt to scare someone into calling them.
Then if you are dumb enough to call, they try to hook you into wiring them a payment, so do NOT believe these types of texts and do NOT respond to them. Once you respond, you help them verify that your cell number is good and they will pass your number to dozens of other scamsters. Your phone will then NEVER stop ringing or getting text, so just DELETE these type of messages and simply ignore them. I get them roughly 2-3 times per year, so it doesn't bother me, but if you are getting them constantly, then it's probably a good time to consider changing your phone number.
GOT A TEXT MESSAGE FROM THIS NUMBER (SUPPOSEDLY HARRIS BANK) TELLING ME MY CREDIT CARD IS LIMITED... NEVER EVEN HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH HARRIS BANK. SCAMMERS!!! GET A REAL JOB!
Received a text that's supposedly from T-Mobile that states " Notice From HarrisBank:Your MasterCard is Limited.Call at 9154402893 for details"
Never even heard of Harris Bank, and I definitely don't have a mastercard. How stupid do they think we are?
This was also about 30-40 minutes after receiving a call from 4149629898, which is also a scam.
Same here.. just received the message as well, same one. No relationship with Harris, nothing about it seemed to add up. Came on line just to see what's up with this phone number and now I see your similar reports within the last few hours. I bet lots more to come..
I remember something happening like this once before via tmobile.. about a year or two ago. I forget the specific circumstance though but similar in that tons of tmobile cell phones received that other message around the same day or so.
