Credit Card Scammer. 916-758-8658 is one of more than 40 different numbers that these credit card scammers use. Their numbers and caller IDs vary from day to day. Most often they call themselves Card Services and promise a lower interest rate for your credit card. But they are just scammers trying to get your credit card number so they can rip you off. They've been calling my home number daily for over 11 years. Back when they first started calling I would answer the phone and tell them that I was not interested and to please remove my number from their call list. That was about eleven years ago and they still call six days a week. I have not answered any of their calls since 2006 ....and yet they continue to call. I estimate that they have called my number over 2500 times in the last eleven years ... "without an answer". And still they call almost daily. Looks like for efficiency purposes they would delete numbers from their call lists after they have called them several thousand times without an answer. The calls are originating from India, so there isn't anything the US Government can do to stop them. They "must" be finding people who fall for the scam, or they would not still be calling after all these years. Just let your family and friends know about these idiots so they won't fall for the scam.
I just got a call from this number. "Voip", showed on the caller ID. These criminals use a computer program to batch call phone numbers one after the other and, as previously mentioned they must find the occasional idiot that falls for the scam. Criminals don't care about the law so any attempts at turning the numbers to the fcc, ftc or any other government agency are a useless waste of time, like what I'm doing right now.
What bugs me is that with the patriot act and the ability of the NSA to monitor everybody in the U.S. I believe that with a fraction of the $$ spent on building weapons of mass destruction and funding wars all over the globe, wrestling with illegal immigration etc. I just don't believe there aren't methods that could be used to shut down these annoying time wasting scumbags.
I've friends that own businesses, they can't afford not to pick up a call and some of them spend hundreds if not thousands of $$ a year in phone staffing only to have these criminal low-lives waste their hard-earned money.
