Phone number kept calling me. Looked on credit report. Harassing me for a debt of $225.00. Really? No worries. I will pay them off so they can leave me alone. Not even my debt.

If someone harasses you over a debt that isn't yours, the worst possible thing to do is to pay it. It will NOT stop the phone calls. Instead, it will get you put on the "sucker list" and you will be targeted for other scams. And the money you give them keeps the operation going so that they can take advantage of more people.
Be especially wary if they offer to break your "debt" into 2 or 3 easy payments that are a "discount" off of some much larger amount. They do this because they want you to miss one of the payments, and then they can add it to your credit report and force you to pay the full amount to get it removed. All for something that you didn't owe in the first place!
The way to stop calls like this is to tell them that you've researched their company on 800notes, you know where they are located, and you will be reporting them to the attorney general's office. And if they call you again, you will also be filing a lawsuit. That should get your number out of their database without having to spend $225.
These people have been calling me for months. When I answer the phone there is no one on the other end. I called them back and told them to stop calling me but the calls continue.
