Actually, it's more like taking the dog to a public park a thousand km from where you live where nobody knows who you are. THEN it's like yelling it to the dog, because nobody has any idea who is yelling.
The posters on this board are anonymous, and the owner of this board makes sure it stays that way. (And I fully support that.)
I filled out this application for Immigration expert and filled out my phone number. then when I clicked next they asked for me to pay like 389 dollars... then I realized it was a scam and didn't go further. then I looked it up and found out for sure it was a scam. then 30 minutes later they called me, some lady with a middle eastern accent I think. I just played stupid and said they got the wrong number and said that it's not my name (the name I filled out) then that lady started sounding all aggressive and unprofessional.... hope they don't call again. on top of that why would they call from Canada 2 am Canada central time???? :P I am in Sweden by the way. they better not call again..
I got a call from this number 917-522-8380 which showed up unknown on my mobile phone. I told the caller, who identified himself only as "Rob", to call me back on a landline. Upon doing so, the number showed up on my telephone's caller-ID.
At first, he sounded so convincing. I voluntarily answered all questions he asked including my salary, Post at my job, and the length of time on my place of employment. He told me to hold, then returned congratulating me that I was an eligible canditate. He then told me that the amount I would have to pay for both my son and I would be $1,069.00 (my daughter he says is older than the age requirement and she would have to apply independently as an adult) He then told me that he needed to know in the event I get my confirmation( which can take anywhere from 1 - 2 years), if my visa card would register with their company.
My suspicion began to set in at this point... He asked for the first six numbers on the card. This he said will allow them to know if the card is compatible with their company's bank account and he told me to hold. Quickly thinking, I gave him the number of a card that I had recently cancelled.
When he came back to the line, he said that the card is ok. Then he asked for the remaining numbers on the card. I gave him some bogus numbers. He then told me to hold and that his boss would need to speak further to me.
when he placed me on hold, I immediately hung up the telephone.
The whole thing started as i was going through AustraliaGSM website, i filled information and the next day i received a call from them. while I'm talking with the agent (female, british) i was receiving sms about registration and mails as well.
for awhile they sounded and look legit.
she wanted my credit card number and confirmed to me that i won't pay now and just to include it in my application for paying later, i was hesitant, she kept assuring that it won't be deducted and she was filling my details. i gave her my information and sadly the cc number, i thought if i didn't give her the verification number she won't be able to deduct anything. however once the call ended, i received sms from my bank about the deduction. i called and the bank identified the transaction as a fraud, the card was canceled directly, the bank will follow up with the form i supplied.
the bank is telling me now they can refund the amount but it may take sometime, i hope they can.
the whole thing is a fraud, as i called back the number and no answer, even the number on their website has no answer.
i feel stupid that after a 40 min call I was a fraud victim
This number called me today... They were trying some information from me which i tried to restrict myself from answering it. But i only noticed is that, this people "scammer". Please just be wise enough because this people can turn the morning of one account to night, am abiodun from Nigeria.
i have a lot of calls from this number also. i just add it to my reject list. do not answer as it may be a fraud.
be careful there are a lot of modous nowadays.
