I received a call stating that I needed to call the following number (917) 720-3235 immediately, reason claimed the IRS is suing me. Sorry but this smacks of a crank call. The IRS does not place telephone calls like this, if there was any issue with an account you would receive a letter directly from the IRS. With instructions.
I also received a call almost an hour ago from this number let voicemail pick it up and it said the same thing the IRS is suing you it seems if it were true there would be a letter by mail plus wouldn't they mention who is being sued in the first place??
Call from 917-720-3235, let answering machine handle it. Caller claimed to be from IRS and said the call was to inform me that the IRS was suing me. This is so dumb and don't even bother. The IRS mails all of their threats, so just disregard this stupid phone spammer.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
