Instant hang-up when I answered and said "hello". Highly likely just a live-phone test call, so will probably get my number added to telemarketing / scam lists... Guess just need to stop answering any call from unknown numbers again, which is difficult since is a business line. I suppose if it's legitimate, they'll leave a voicemail.

OK - they just called again and I did pick it up. Was "Judy" in a pre-recorded pitch offering free GE home security systems and just needed to know one thing: "Are you a home owner", which I assume is a trick for them to record you saying yes, so they can claim you authorized acceptance of their scam. I just kept asking "Is this a robot" and eventually they hung up. Definitely a toxic telemarketing scam.
Called my cell phone today. Guy asked if I could hear him. Without thinking, I automatically said yes. Then he proceeded to tell me that I had won some kind of trip. I immediately told him I was not interested and then hung up. After hanging up I remembered reading a news article recently about scam callers who ask if you hear them, you respond and they record you. Then in the future they use that to say you agreed to purchase something. No more answering calls if name does not show on caller ID.
