Has called twice today wanting to speak with a lady here in our office. The woman on the phone, says that it is about the Special Olympics. I told her that we had already reached our limited for donations this year, but to keep us mind for next year....hopefully she will forget...

This is the second time that I have reported this number here on this page. The first was about Special Olympics, this time a man is calling to speak with the owner, and says that he is returning his call about the VFW. Makes it sound like we called him in reference to a job. Then he ask for his cell phone number, but I tell him that I am not at liberty to give that out. So far, he has called this office twice today. I wish they would just make up their mind, what they want....BETTER YET...just stop calling.
caller ID came up Cary, NC so I figured it for a spoofed number-looked here after no VM was left, and see it's not a call of consequence, which makes it either a way for a collections agency to determine if anyone answers,or a telemarketer.
Shortly after got a similar caller ID without a VM...
Sioux City IA
Note the trend- a city or town name with the state abbreviated in the caller ID text.
Used *67 to "anonymize" my call and called the Cary NC number back- recorded answer said ...thanks for calling Donor Services and then it cut off (signifies that it could be a not-for-profit agency that uses a callcenter not worried about DNC lists -NFP's are exempt)....
The Sioux City IA number similarly called back had a person answer ...thanks for calling Direct Services- since I had it on mute they gave up after a few seconds of trying to talk and hung up.
A call center that uses spoofed numbers to get a person to answer then has the go signal to make their real pitch, whether for collections or to telemarket. If I had called either number without the *67,I might have had a different result and the phone could be ringing all day.
