This was a call from The Coalition to Protect North Carolina Families, and I am a volunteer for this group.
Since the calling effort is done by volunteers, we're all trying to learn the software as we call NC voters to urge them to vote against the so-called "marriage amendment, and sometimes we make mistakes. The software is a little buggy, and also, it works with our own personal cell phones. Sometimes when I called tonight, I could hear the person who answered, but they couldn't hear me. To everyone who has gotten a call that didn't work, please accept my apology on behalf of all of the volunteers (for whom I have no authority to speak for, but who would probably all agree).
I hate doing cold calling, but this amendment will take away health insurance from children, remove protections for women who are threatened with domestic violence, and take away hospital visitation rights from widows and widowers who have a legal domestic partnership or civil union but who don't want to get married because it would affect their social security or insurance.
The election ends tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m., so please vote and please forgive me.
Jusat dialed it on my VOIP phone. It is a Robo-Call gone bad. The mailboax is "full" and belongs to "Protect North Carolina Famalies". It is undoubtedly a "Vote For" the marraige amendment.
