The first time a person called they announced that this wasn't a solicitation and they were allowed to call and they would call back. Well, they have - many times. I was surprised no one else has posted on this number. It's quite possible they have the wrong number for a UNC Chapel Hill alumni - but now they just call repeatedly and don't leave any message - what is there to hide if you are fundraising? Leave a message & be proud of your school... and please stop calling people repeatedly.

Somehow UNC Chapel Hill has allowed (or gotten highjacked) by a telemarketer for 'Non-Profits' and should be hotly embarrassed. I got so sick of getting these calls I finally answered and this young girl said, "I am so and so (hard to hear of course) calling for the LA Family Housing for Children" or something along those lines. And I said, "I've asked many times to take me off your call list."
Fed up with this (and you all should try this!) I put the number on redial and the young girl kept hanging up until I said, "I'm just going to keep calling until we do something about this." Surprisingly she spoke and said that they have the right to 'refuse' this first time as they are charity but are supposed to delist after the second time... I guess the 'smart' thing to do is to say you've asked more than four times and maybe that will sink in. I don't know how they are gonna know there was a first or second time because they call from different numbers.
NEVER GIVE MONEY TO CHARITY OR ANY OTHER UNSOLICITED CALLER over the phone - even if they sound legitimate - you initial the call to charities you know. There is no such thing as a true 'non-profit' - these guys keep 90% for expensive homes and cars and give 10% so they look like they are doing something. Pick charities you know and are familiar with.
