First call from this obviously spoofed phone number. (No exchanges in the US start with 0 or 1 - so this is fake.)
It was a 'smart response' or artificial intelligence system pitching home security systems.
It started with a pitch 'we have technicians in your area and are offering 20 customers absolutely free wireless security systems ... '. When it paused for a answer to the question 'are you the homeowner?' I asked 'it' what company he was with and it said 'National Home Security'. When I interrupted the continued pitch to ask where 'he' was calling from, it said 'New York City'. I replied that he showed as a local phone call in California, how odd.
When I tried to mess with the AI some more and see if I could get it to 'loop back' - it disconnected.
This is an illegal spoofed robocall to a DNC listed cell phone of a home renter!
If I actually had gotten to a human being, I would have tried to find out what local company in my area would be installing my system - and then ask why anyone would by 'home security' from criminals or the companies that buy leads from them?
