Call several times a day, only rings 3 times. Answered once with a "hello" and after no response I said "goodbye" at which point I heard an older woman's voice say,"You say goodbye?"just as I hung up.
I too have been getting calls from this number. My caller ID just says 'California' followed by the number. I don't even bother picking up the phone. Where/how did they get my number when it's listed on the national DO NOT call list? What's the good in registering your number to keep this from happening?
This 'California' number calls me on my private office line which also rings in my home. This is by no means the only call of this type I receive - it is unfortunately, all to common.
I also am on the National 'Do Not Call Registry' (NDNCR)and agree with yankeetexan; What is the point of registering if registering does not protect/block you from receiving unwanted solicitation phone calls? My question is, what recourse do we have? Is there a place where we can report unwanted calls and actually be removed from their calling list? What penalty do they receive if they violate (or continue to violate) the guide lines of the NDNCR? How can we know that they have actually been reported and warned?
It seems to me that when the automated recording comes on to instruct you to press a certain number if you wish to be removed from their list, that they then have confirmation that they have reached a real person and then will continue to call - at least that has been my experience.
