The FTC and top communications companies are meeting, to determine what they can do to stop robocalls and other illegal calls. Here is a link to a frequently updated page, showing the history and progress of their initiatives, as well as recent Congressional bills. Industry implementations are added after they are announced.

(I strongly suggest you read the history and progress of
H.R.2669 - Anti-Spoofing Act of 2015
amd
S.2558 - Spoofing Prevention Act of 2016
to learn how [slowly] bills progress through our Congressional system.)

Caller claims to be from the Windows IT Department. Very persistent caller. Seeking to gain remote assistance access (don't you dare do it!)
Calls to this number result in voice mail system. Caller ID only says: San Ramon, CA
The worst of the worst!
I have had several of these recently. Depending on my mood I do 1 of these things.
1. I tell them I do not own a computer.
2. I tell them to hold on so I can ask my live in nurse if we own a computer.
3. I let them go through their scam and when it comes time for them to ask to connect to my pc , I tell them I do not have internet. (This really upsets them as they have wasted time )
Got a call from this ph# 925-415-5318 do not answer any unknown ph#'s if important msg will be left on voice mail. These people are extremely desperate & desperate people start doing desperate things> I call them LOSERS !!
Woman calls telling me from "Microsoft," telling me that they've been getting errors from my computer. I tell her that I don't have a computer associated with this number, she comes back with "how could we have gotten this number," all the while, I hear a guy in the background saying that he's calling from Apple. I then ask her if I can speak to her supervisor. She firmly says "No" then hangs up. I gotta try asking for supervisors more often!
I let the phone ring and they will call repeatedly. I've almost been scammed with the "grandson scam" came very close to sending $1000. I wonder why something can't be done with these calls. You can blame Microsoft, Apple, Oracle etc., blame the computer companies for these scam calls. It's is the computer that has caused for theses scam callers.
