I was called several times by this phone number but, when I answered, no one is on the line. Today I decided to call the number myself. (The number is in Orinda, California). It's a newspaper group, wanting to sell subscriptions.
The voice on the phone did say I could opt out by pressing a number. Then the robo voice says something like, "You want us to remove you from our list, correct? If so, press 1." After pressing 1, another voice asks if I'm sure. After pressing 1 again, the voice said I'd be removed from their list within 48 hours. Fingers crossed!
BTW, I'm on the No Call List and have been since it was first available.
