somebody named Adam and said he serviced my heating and air conditioning system. When I told him Service Experts has done this for me since they installed the system 7 yrs ago he hung up on me. When I tried the number it was not valid...
ditto. somebody named Adam called and said they previously serviced my heating and air conditioning system and was offering a special deal to former customers for $30. Said the company was Evergreen. He also had my street name. When I told him I didn't remember using them and asked for his number to have my husband call him back--he hung up. Evergreen could be a legitimate duct cleaning business, but whatever telemarketing firm they are using sucks. So much for being on the "do not call" list.
The guy said they previously serviced my heating and air conditioning system and was offering a special deal to former customers for $30. I wasn't sure if we ever used them, and wanted to check with my husband first. I was trying to make excuses to not commit and call them back, but he said would put me down for a slot in the morning and claimed they call to confirm at the end of the day. I asked for company name and a phone number to call if I needed to cancel the time, but after hanging up I looked up the company (Evergreen) and called their toll-free number. They said they don't make solicitation calls! I also tried the number he called from - doesn't seem to exist, and the 2 numbers he gave - random people saying I had the wrong number.
Definitely a scam. I'm guessing to find out if you'll be home the next day.
