Contra Costa Times. If you call this number back, you get a recording that allows you to be placed on their Do Not Call list. Unfortunately, they will then start calling daily from a different 800-number. They play dirty, stating that we are receiving their paper for free and must start paying. We do not receive any newspapers.
First calls from this number, spoke to a fast talking newspaper rep. Subsequent calls (totalling over 19) from recorded message as stated above. Submitted a complaint to www.donotcall.gov regarding this number.
I bought the Contra Costa Times newspaper one time from a college student trying to pay his tuition. After that I started recieving the paper for almost a year and only $20. Moved, notified the company and cancelled. Now the sales calls to my cell phone never end! I have asked them numerous times to remove me from thier list. They never allow me to speak to thier manager! I heard you can sue telemarketers if you ask to be removed from the list and they continue to call.
The calls are relentless and frequent.
We signed up for the paper and inistsed on a weekend only delivery.
They delivered daily anyway.
After we cancelled they said they would deliver for free.
And then they billed us.
They call us now several times a day.
It is harassment at this point.
Their business practices are the worst.
We love to read the paper but now hate the CC Times.
