These guys call three to four times per week saying there's a problem with my credit accounts and I need to call them. Now, I have no credit cards, but I got tired of the calls and pushed "9" to speak to a counselor. I asked to be removed, but she immediately hung up on me. The next time they called, I pushed "9" and the counselor asked if I wanted to lower my credit card rates. I said I wanted removed from their list-he hung up on me. The next time they called, I played along. When asked the rate question, I said yes and he said "how may I help you?" I asked to be removed from their list because I had no credit cards to which he replied, "So you lied to me" and hung up on me. The next time they call, I will play along and get the name of their company and will immediately do a web search for their company. I know they're crap now and probably using throw-away phones, but I want to find out who to report to the authorities.
This is the latest number used by "Cardholder Services," an outfit that has been shut down by the Feds more than once. That these people aren't in jail for fraud and being scofflaws is really quite amazing.
I am fed up with these calls. I get 3 - 4 a week. If I press "9", sometimes I get cut off.
Sometimes I get connected, asked to be removed from their list and receive a hang-up.
By law, they are to put you on a do-not-call list if you request that. You can never get
through to anyone to request that. What does it take to put a stop to these calls?
