My husband just got a call from this # . They claimed to be a sheriff looking for a donation.
The 'real' sheriffs DO NOT call for donations, nor do any other law enforcement agencies!
I got a call at 8:30 p.m. on a Thursday on my cell phone. Male caller said he was calling for the "Disabled Police" association. When I acted slightly suspicious, he said he would call back :"at a better time" and immediately hung up.
This number just called on a Sunday night at 8:30 PM. When my nine-year-old answered the phone they said it was the sheriffs office and when she gave me the phone they went silent and would not respond to me saying hello over and over again. The outrageous ideas and extent that these criminals will go these days to scam people out of their hard earned money is disgusting and dispicable!!!
