Played along with the caller from NY. He asked if I received my back brace and if it helped the pain. I don't have back problems, but I told him "Oh, yes sir" and asked why the questions then he hung up.
Call came in while I was at work and they left no message, plus just "New York NY" on CID - big ol' red flag it's a scammer. Number is now blocked and while I was at it, I blocked the entire 929 area code for good measure!
So far in one week I have blocked many numbers and this is just one of them. Breast cancer, patrolman, firefighters, cops. I blame it on someone in the house answering to a weird asking for money for "fallen heros" whatever you do screen your calls to numbers you do not know. If it's important they should leave a message.
