Spoofed CallerID information. Fraud-based Spam call looking to come between you and your money.
Never pick up for known fraud calls, or else they get confirmation that your number is active and will pick up for convincing fraud. You picking up the phone gives them time to hold your attention, and from there they will try and con your money out of your bank.
robocall from 929-223-0091 caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME" on Saturday 09-06-14 @ 1121 AM.
Yes, the SCAMMERS even call on Saturdays.
Pre-recorded long message with males voice "do not hang up..........Free medical alert pendant........blah blah."
Press 1 to talk to a representative or 3 to be removed.
So I pressed 1 and a message in female voice started another long-winded diatribe that they have been around since 1987
....blah...blah....and then went on with statistics about people falling not getting help....and at end even dying."
Finally with the second message done a female came on the line said her name and then asked for mine.
Told her in a very slow and sickly voice "my name is Mark." The female then said "the call was being recorded for quality purposes." I had to CHOKE back my laughter !!!
The female then asked if 'we get disconnected is this the best number to reach me at?"
I told her "yesssss it isss."
She then said that they have a Free system waiting to ship and wanted to know if I was on Social Security?"
Told her "Noooo I am notttt onnn that"
She then switched her approach and wanted to help with pain medication and then wanted to "verify me and my address."
At that point, my computer system had gone thru and completed its entire restart while listening to the messages and the
female Rep. and I was able to tell the caller "Ok, I cannn give youuuuu thattttt info."
I quickly started up at full blast my "SCAMMER AIR HORN."
I paused it after about 30 seconds and asked "are you still there "Scamming b****."
She must have taken her call off mute or my voice told her I was back on line so she respond said something (which I did not hear) so I continued the "SCAMMER AIR HORN."
I paused it after about another 40 seconds while calling the female a few more expletives.
She then responded again and I again unpaused the "SCAMMER AIR HORN."
Ran it for almost 2 minutes and she was GONE !!!
All told I tied this female up with the call lasting over 8 and a half minutes.
