Received a call from this number. Foreign accent nd they said they were calling from US Treasury and there was a warrant for my arrest for tax evasion and that I owed $4,375.95 from a federal tax return in 2011, 2012. When i asked to speak to a supervisor they said it wasn't possible and if I disconnected the call they would activate the warrant and two Detectives from the IRS would be coming to arrest me within 45 minutes. I asked then if I could pay it and they were giving me instructions to go to a Foodlion or Riteaid and they would tell me how to send the money. They would not give me the address for the IRS nd they said once the money has been paid they would send me an email explaining the discrepancy of my tax returns. I'm calling the IRS and Dept of Treasury to report this tomorrow since today is a Holiday. People need to know what kind of scam they are running. Someone that is really scared because they mentioned the IRS and Dept of Treasury and going to jail all in the same conversation will send these people that money.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.
