The caller goes by the name "Officer Dan Gorek", and claims to be with the Criminal Investigation Department of the IRS. He stated that "a legal notice has been issued on your name", and that "serious allegations have been issued against you with the Criminal Investigation Department of the IRS." He then states that "this is a matter of great urgency", to "get in touch with him as soon as possible', and that "he looks forward to speaking with you soon." The selections in quotes are actual excerpts from his message. This has got to be one of the IRS tax scams about which people have been warned. The telephone number, 929-800-4063, does not seem to belong to the IRS. And, needless to say, "Officer Dan Gorek", as he calls himself, speaks with a pronounced Indian accent.
