Received call today, 11-14-14. Caller ID said "Name Not Found 712-201-1206". The following recorded message was left ""Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is officially final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Services. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuits against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 929-800-4556. I repeat, 929-800-4556. Thank you".
This is a scam!. Area code 712 is in Iowa, while area code 929 is in NY City. No identifiable information, on sites listed on Google for either of these numbers, is provided unless you pay.The IRS never calls. By law, it is required to notify a taxpayer via a mailed deficiency notice..I repeat "this is a scam! DO NOT call either of the above indicated numbers.
This exact situation happen to me today. The stupid female on the phone kept hanging up on me because she knows this is a scam. Everybody please call that number everyday just to talk about the weather lol. I guess this scam has been around for a while. I was not aware of it. So I feet it was important to start tralking.
I just got the same call today, I was so scared and I call back with the number. Kept on trying to call back but it keep on hanging up. It's either saying your call cannot go through or the busy sound. Can someone please advise. thank you
