Didn't see a call, but did receive a voicemail message about 30 mins ago. It was a machine that was already in the middle of its message saying the IRS was filing a suit against me and to call the number back for more information. Yeah right...
I got the same phone call 10 min ago saying that the IRS is filing a suit against me.
I called back and I told them that I have to call IRS to verify, then the call was disconnected. The guy has an accent from Middle East.
They called and said they were the IRS - even verified my home address. The woman had a thick middle-eastern accent, but claimed her name was Colleen Cooper. She said I was notified via mail in August that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Then later said I was going to be audited, when I asked why she said it was because I had been underpaying my taxes. When I said the opposite was true - that I actually overpaid my taxes, she hung up. There is a page on the IRS website detailing this scam - see here: https://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterat ... -Telephone-Scam
