Don't let the calls bother you. The callers are scammers. The scam is very old. It's been being run for years. Mostly by Indian scammers, sometimes by Pakistanis. The Mexican scammers are trying to pick it up, so are the Jamaicans. An occasional domestic U.S. twit might try it, but that idiot would be putting his neck in a noose.
The IRS does NOT initiate contact by 'phone. They use the mail. The IRS does NOT threaten lawsuits. They don't need to. If you owe the IRS, you already know it. Your mailbox has already made you well aware of it. The IRS does NOT employ people who can't speak with decent English skills & the IRS does NOT tolerate its people using threats or foul language. The IRS does NOT have people on staff making, or receiving, calls during weekends or holidays. They're gov't. bureaucrats. They work 9-5, Monday thru Friday. They do NOT answer the 'phone right away. If you're not on hold for at least 20 minutes, you did NOT call the IRS. The IRS does NOT demand payment by 'phone. They DEFINITELY won't accept a payment with a friggin' ITunes card!
If you have received nothing in the mail from the IRS; & you have not called the IRS; & you have received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, tell that caller to put his/her claim in the mail. If the caller starts to make threats, tell the caller to shove it & hang up.

We received twice a call from this number within last two days. Both times they threatening messages about some kind of legal action from IRS. Very disturbing!
