Our office has been receiving these calls/messages for the last few days. Same thing, heavy Indian accent, saying he's call about an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury and not responding is a Federal Criminal Offense. Hahaha dumb [***] doesn't even realize the US Treasury NEVER calls!!!!! They contact you by mail. Don't fall for this scam people!!!!
A man with a foreign accent called and said he is from a Bruce law firm in Texas. the number they are calling from is (936) 650-2330. they said I'm being sued. When I say they have the wrong number they tell me the police will be coming to arrest me. Then start to call me names that I won't mention. They started to call my cell phone and now are calling my work number.
I got a phone call from unavailable phone number telling me that he is from department of treasury. He have foreign accent. I told him I can't tell anything because this is unavailable number, he gave me the number 936-650-2330 to call Kavin Smith or such name. When I called that number a foreign accent answer machine told me that all the officers are busy. So did the department hire officers? I'm thinking call the police. This number is belong to HUNTSVILLE, TX - Carrier: SPRINT SPECTRUM L.P.
I just called that number and he said that he is going to arrest me. I told him this is not the right way that department of treasury deal with people live in US and the should send me a mail with paperwork to find out what you are talking about. He cut he line. I just called the police, they told me this is scam calls and don't worry.
