I totally agree with you. I pay a plenty for my phone bill & get so sick of these hoodlums harrassing me in the privacy of my own home. I am so thankful for caller ID/ & talking ID, Wonderful. Don't even have to look to see who's calling. Announces to me. I love it. Maybe lots of people wouldn't but a help to me at times especially if cooking continue & phone tells me who is calling. I don't answer any number I don't recognize. If need to talk to me leave a voice message. I have blocked all calls I can on my phones automatically but have to continue to delete some to add the new ones that keep popping up every day. I have block caller on my phone also but haven't had time to program it in yet. Just bought these new Panasonic phones. Love them. Have posted this before that if you punch numbers like someone mentioned, you may be transferring the call out of the country & you could be stuck with whopper phone bill. My carrier said they had 2 customers this happened to when I called over a year ago after punching 1 to get off calling list & got a person speaking language I didn't understand, had just read in local paper about woman got bill for $25,000 by punching numbers. So customer be aware when answering, punching buttons. I had my line checked, carrier kept watch on line & told me to report any charges I didn't understand. Sad how in the good ole USA we have to put up with this crap with no control. Do Not Call List is a joke. Waste of our tax dollars.
I answer only when I want to tell them to STOP calling and give them a piece of my mind. I finally got one guy to stop when I told him that I have a sick parent (the truth) and I do NOT appreciate these constant intrusions. He hung up on me, but.....his company's five to six calls a day finally ceased.
2nd call from a # on top & bottom. I know it's a scam or political bunk. 1st time we got THIS #. I know nobody from this area code. I try to relax since I'm Home Bound but these idiot calls come in even though we have an unlisted # & we're on that waste of a list called the DNC.
