I am a Professional Fundraiser (and yes it is a "real job"! lol) that works for 100% legal and legitimate 501c3 not for profit charities & organizations that ACTUALY do some good in this world! However there have been plenty of times I have had to work as a Telesales Rep.(Telemarketer) and even these are a neccesary evil for our economy in MOST instances... These "scams"  make a tough job (for anyone) even harder I get told off on a hourly bases even when working with a well known or household name charity, no how many times I say it's part of the job and it doesn't bother me, does not make it true. This number (937) 203-7685 called me 8:30pm EST on CHRISTMAS NIGHT.. Whoever is working there your boss is a dick and you should probably find a new before you get caught up in something just to make ends meat there are plenty of places to do that kind of work and still be able to stand proud! I can tell you all this: 1st try not to be to rough on the poor person on the other line. He/She has NO way of knowing if you are on the DNC lists or not, they USAULY are not actually dialing a phone but more than likely sitting at a computer waiting and even when dialing a phone you dial what your given assuming the people above you are doing thier jobs and following the laws and regulations that protect us from scams as best as they can! 2nd NEVER give personal info over the phone if someone calls and wants something from you without sending you something 1st (info, receipt, decals, etc.) it is VERY likley you are getting scammed! True Fundraiser and Telemarketers will tell you this if you ask and if not report them! The FCC is basically the phone police and pretty much the only thing that scares the less then legal or illegal business's and scamers out there...

"I am a Professional Fundraiser" > Which means you get paid. Either by salary, or commission. If it's commission the pressure is on you to collect. What percentage of what you collect actually goes to your 'charity'? Just like milk? 2%?

Yes I get paid, It makes me quite happy to know there are folks like you in the world-willing to give your time to charity even if it means not going to your day job, if there were more people like you, I mean willing to quit their job or career, stop paying bills, lose all of your material possessions and focus all of your time on making sure a charity (or charities) are successful and in order to assist in the matter in which it was intended. There would be no need for people "Like Me" although I suspect you are not one of those folks. As for the percentage, it various tremendously from charity to charity. A lot of factors must be considered when a percentage is calculated, One of the first questions asked and one of the biggest ones is actually a little ironic and I'm not trying to be rude but it has a lot to do with people that share your "point view" or "attitude" towards professional fundraisers and those charities that use them and that's-how hard is it going to be to raise funds for said program? Is this a well know charity and whether it is or not how hard will it be to keep people in the seats and on the phone day after day raising money? By that I don't only mean is it a legit, but also how much abuse will the fundraisers be subjected to, and if you are thinking "wouldn't the abuse be the same for all charities" the answer is unequivocally NO. Some charities are nationally known so people feel comfortable almost immediately, then there are those that if I'm to be honest never get off the ground because of a name. I can think of one that I worked for really sticks out it was an extremely good cause however it's name was less then desirable making almost impossible to get past it's name in a phone conversation so needless to say it failed. In conclusion I would like to add I wasn't trying to start a debate on phone solicitation but I merely wanted to let folks know there is a difference from solicitation and fundraising. If I may I would like to add that even if your on the "DNC" list it does not pertain to charities that are defined under a 501c3.
