Got a call on landline 5:21pm 3/24/14 Mon from this # & don't know it so didn't ans & they left no msg on ans mach. Don't ans #s I am not familiar with. Pay for nonlisted # & on all DNCall lists to no avail. Wish telemarketers would "roll over & kick the bucket"! At 81 yrs of age we need these calls like we need another hole in the head. DON'T CALL ME, I'LL CALL YOU! Sounds like a debt collector from these posts, but we don't owe anyone, we pay all our bills & don't do business over the ph unless we are the caller & are SURE of who we are calling. So leave us alone already.
Two calls this evening from a robot; I only said "hello" once the first time and it disconnected after 20 seconds. The second time, I answered with "hello," but after a few seconds I said "pick it up and speak;" That's when a male voice came on the line. He's a bill collector; seems to be new to the business, too. He asked for someone who does not live here. Based on the phone number, my best guess is that he uses a MagicJack or similar device, so he could be calling from anywhere.
Follow-Up...
The caller uses a computer to make calls through his Republic Wireless phone (Bandwidth LLC). I think I'll notify Republic because is sure to violate their policies.
