keeps texting me to buy a car, and wants to pay by check. its a scam. i can tell just by the wording
who ever it is didnt read the add or doesnt understand english
This person texted me saying that he/she wants to buy the car that I have for sale and want to pay through PayPal. Definetely, this is another scam trying to steal.
Yep, these are all scams. Most originate from Craig's List ads or similar services. As soon as you post you get a poorly worded, foreign translated form msg. asking if you still have items for sale and condition..blah blah blah. this has happened to me many many times, every time i post an ad on Craig's List. Just goes with the territory. I just like messing with them and even call back and leave random msg's just to annoy them.
If you are getting these via Craig's List - try adding the words "if this ad is still up, the item is still available. Don't call and ask if it's still available". Also type in your phone number using partial words and not numbers - such as (234) Five Six 7 - Eight 9 1 One
this same number has currently been texting me messages. she tells me she can't send me the money directly, and currently has money being sent to me through paypal. and i wont receive the money until i pay a service fee of 800 dollars for an item i'm selling.
I have been getting calls from 1-937-625-0545. He leaves a message saying he is Peter Schutzman and lives in Blanchester Ohio and asks about the condition of the item I am selling on Craigslist!
I live in NYC and I specifically say cash only and you have to pick it up in person.
I read Todds tip above on using partial words for the phone number. Going to give that a try!
