Once at the end of the recording it said I was number 14 in the que. They never identify themselves, and caller ID just reads Dayton. It is probably a collection agency. I think it is rude expect you to hold for an unidentified caller. I hang up.

I live in the 937 area, so the initial thought is to answer, but if the number is unfamiliar, I generally go with my second thought and don't pick up. Based on the above postings, the second thought is the right one.
Should debt collectors send statements of your balance? I cannot get one from the "company" I have been working with to let me know the balance of a past due credit card. It should be about paid. I would really like to know the balance. Is it required that collectors let us know? Thanks
