they have called several times so I called them got a voice mail of course but by being patient I followed the prompts & signed up for the do not call list they said it will take 72 hours to take my number off the list so if they call me next week I will report them.
I think they get away with calling people on the do not call registry by claiming to be a non profit organization.
Got this call from a man, stated my name, identified himself as from some police organization. Our area is being flooded with these scam calls wanting donations for the police. We have a manhunt going on in our area, Two state troopers were shot from ambush and these scumbags are trying to use this incident to scam peoples sympathy for money.
We keep getting a call from this number, even though we have never answered the phone. This has been going on for months. The male voice asks, "Is xxxxxx there?" or "Hello, is xxxxx there? Are you there?" Then there is a pause, and he hangs up. The xxxxx represent my husband's name, so he acts like he knows my husband. Very odd. He should get a life.
Solicitor raising money for the police. (Supposedly.) Will be blocking this number. Do not know if this is a legitimate organization or not, but I don't make any donations in response to phone calls.
Called asking for a male name I had never heard in my life (almost sounded Indian), and then proceeded to insist I stay on the phone. Went on talking about donations needed for retired police officers. Not worth my time, don't care to find out if even legit. Soliciting phone calls when I am on the DNC registry is BS.
