Called me 4 times on the 1st of September and then again today twice already (It's only 1:45pm). I never answered and no message was left by caller. I have blocked this number now.
They don't care about your phone equipment. They only care about your phone number as a means to contact you. For the purpose of tricking you into revealing your credit card information. They only care about stealing credit card information. For this, they have to talk to you. If the phone rings with an unfamiliar number, you can either ignore it, or pick up and just listen. If it sounds phony, hang up without responding at all. You don't want to show sounds of life. Or they will call back and try to get your credit card number. Or bank number, etc. Anything to get money. No talk = no problem except nuisance. See if you can block the numbers from ringing in the first place.
