Who called from 9412493410

My elderly mom got taken in by these people. They called from 941-249-3407, 941-249-3408, 941-249-3409, 941-249-3410, and 941-249-3411. Said they were from Microsoft and her account was expired. Let them remote into her PC and she also gave them passwords. They installed programs. She had to pay 191.00 for 3 yr. plan. They said they would deposit 800.00 into her checking and then she would have to give them a money order for the difference between the 800. and 191. because they couldn't just put in for such a small amount of money. She did go to the bank to see if the 800. was there, and they told her not to do the money order!
Had her shut off her PC, changed logins and passwords for all accounts, cancelled credit cards...everything. Will wipe out her PC and clean it. Doesn't look like they got anything at time time because we acted quickly!

I received a harassing phone call from a person who's phone number is in your jurisdiction, that I would like to notify you about.

A woman called me around 11:20am (my local time), informing me that she had once fixed my computer.  I realized immediately that this was not true, and that this was most likely a phishing call to obtain personal information from me, or to gain access to information on my computer.

I looked up this phone number on line, only to find out that many other people have been subjected to similar calls from this number.  While I am wary of such calls, I realize that some other people might become victims of this type of activity, especially the elderly.

I hope that you will have the time and resources to look into this, and perhaps put a quick stop to it, in order to prevent others from being victimized by scams like this.

You do realize, that your caller is not in the US, and that sheriff, or any other law enforcement official in the US has no jurisdiction, don't you?

Number called me several times in 5 minutes. Claimed to be the FBI and that I was threatening the security of the Nation and that they would deactivate my phone within 24 hours. Then they said I'd be in jail for 20 years. Called my local FBI branch to cnfirm that it is a scam.
