SINCE I HAVE NO WAY TO BLOCK #'S, I NO LONGER ANSWER MY PHONE. THESE [***]-HOLES ARE PATHETIC. I ALWAYS SCREEN CALLS AND ONLY PICK UP IF I KNOW THEM. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE FALL FOR THIS CRAP THESE DAYS. NEVER PUSH # PROMPTS OR GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFO. SIMPLY DON'T ANSWER. ANY LEGIT PLACE WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE. I KNOW IT'S POSSIBLE SCAMMERS MAY DO IT, BUT IT'S RARE....
I keep getting calls from this supposed computer repair company that claims to be with Microsoft. The recorded call says that something is wrong with my computer and that it will crash unless I call them right away. Sure. I did put the number on the Do Not Call registry tonight so I hope the calls will stop soon.
Same call, says they are Microsoft and that a computer I am using is generating security issues...I asked which computer, and they said the one running Windows 8...which now confirms this is some kind of scam or phishing or worse, because I am not running Windows 8 and if they really were Microsoft and could see security issues, they would have known I am not running Windows 8. But as soon as I said I was not running 8, they hung up...no sign off, no "thanks for your time"...just click...and a professional organization such as Microsoft would not conclude a call in that manner.
Called and said it was Microsoft and that my computer was sending errors. She then said to press 1 to speak to a Microsoft technician. I also live in Alabama. It said Name Not Found on the caller id.
