My friend responded to a similar scheme -- a scam. They wanted him to give permission for them to control his computer (remotely) to "repair" this or that. Fortunately, he knew that they'd hold it hostage and threaten to keep control of his system until he paid a ransom. Now you know, too! Don't fall for it!
