I have recently started getting calls from numbers in the 100s. These are not valid numbers and many call blocking services are unable to block these calls as they are coming from invalid numbers. They are telemarketers.
I have recently started getting calls from numbers in the 100s. These are not valid numbers and many call blocking services are unable to block these calls as they are coming from invalid numbers. They are telemarketers.
This number continues to call and never leaves a message. Given the prefix of 197, I believed it to not be a legitimate number, therefore I did not pick up.
After receiving a few calls from this number over the last several days I put them on the *60 block list. No message was ever left, and the one time I answered I heard a delayed connection followed by the sound of a phone being dropped or fumbled, then silence.
As others pointed out, this is not a valid exchange number. That doesn't happen by accident, so the caller ID has been spoofed. That is an absolutely certain indicator of criminal intent on the part of the caller.
This is the same scam as 909-197-5543.
The stupid caller does not know now I only need to block 197-5543, and all number with 197-5543 will be blocked.
