Same as above. Said he was from Microsoft. I told him that I knew he was not and that what he was doing illegal. I also told him that he had better not ever call here again.
Some pujab called and said they were calling because of a computer. I asked and they said the windows computer. You could hardly understand what he was saying. I have no problems with a computer or have purchased a computer. I hung up.
call shows up on caller id says sts under name, the number 949-203-0674=- I awnser hello took little time till he replied
back, started talking about computer, I have no computer at home told him so,. barely understood him, after I finally
got point across I had no computer he hung up he was phishing for info.
I pick up, I hear the auto dialer beep back to him. Some static line starts up and I know right away this is another "scam". I say hello three times and suddenly an indian man says his name is Peter and asks how I'm doing. I say "Fine" and he then tells me he's calling from "C2 Tech" and hes calling about my computer. That it's "not responding to critical updates" and asked if I was aware of this.
You can only imagine what I made him aware of before hanging up.
Yes, Elizabeth. Peter's script was the same when I got the call you described. He told me he was calling on behalf of Microsoft, I believe. I took a more lighthearted approach and veered down a rabbit-hole of bizarre conversation, chatting asininely with Peter for about half an hour. It was a hoot, but kind of creepy too. He asked if he could call me back and I said he may, but I'd prefer he didn't. The first call was about 6-8 months ago, and the latest was just now - only this time it was a hang up. Oh darn! : ( goodbye Peter lol
