They called me regarding the same thing from the "depository check fraud division" . I figured it was a scam because when I searched the number I was not able to obtain a location to the specific business and they did not explain what account the money from the "Loan" went into. It is a Scam.
Called my cell identifying as Legal Risk Management and it was a courtesy call. If I refused they would note that and I would have my license suspended 6 months to a year and garnishments. It was supposedly on a check loan from September of 2012 with an address that I haven't lived in since 2010. I would be charged with Theft by deception, etc. When asked repeatedly to speak to supervisor, I was spoke over and not given to one. Got hung up on. Called the number back (got same lady) hung up on again. Called again - got Danielle. She went into lengthy stuff about loans, etc. I asked repeatedly for company name - which she WOULDN'T give. Said her agent gave me the wrong company name but wouldn't give me a real company name. Total fraud/scam.
Told me they would suspend my license that i got a loan in 2012. Called my bank they have no statements that show a loan or a payment made to the loan in that time frame.
What you got told is the same things i got told. I feel better knowing im not the only one. I about had a heart attack i have never been in trouble before or had my license taken from me.
I was told basically the same thing. I told them none of their information made sense because supposedly the loan was in 2012 but they had an email address and physical address for me that I haven't had since 2009. I asked that proof of loan be sent to me and she didn't have that information so I told her to tell the company they need to send me information. They tried to call back on my cell and work phone about 30 min later and I just didn't answer. So frustrating!
