Received a call from this number and the caller left a message for me by my first name. He identified himself as Dean from what sounded like PCMA. Said he was looking for someone named Jennifer last name sounded like Barry or Berry who supposedly gave my name as a reference. It seemed like he was deliberately being unclear on the PCMA and the Barry/Berry. He asked that I call him back at that number and left a file number to refer to and then he added that he also had a question about my address which he actually knew. This creeped me out since I had no idea who this Jennifer is and why anyone in CA would be contacting me on the East Coast for references. Anyway, I googled the number and found an interesting post which warns not to call this number because it is scammer trying to get your credit card info.
Apparently called my family member, who I haven't talked to in years and were asking about me and had reference info. This is complete crap, I don't know how they thought to associate the two of us. I don't have any of my family member's contact info so I'm really not sure how they got it. They also said I used them as a reference, for what I have no idea.
Had a message on my home phone number to call this number with a reference number on an individual who is an ex-spouse. "Dean" stated he was seeking a reference regarding the ex-spouse. Gave my correct address. Really strange and creepy.
Voicemail left almost identical to Sharon's above, except they were looking for Alicia Rush, who I don't know. It is Pacific Coast Mitigation, a junk debt collector who likes to pretend they are a law firm and are very threatening and harassing.
Yep, I received a call from "Dean" from "PCMA" - and, REALLY got thrown for a loop!!! Dean said they were collecting (as PCMA) for another company named "Worldwide Recovery". I'm disabled, with hypoxia, and chronic pain. This guy had me - literally - in tears. Unfortunately.......I did give him my credit card information to pay of this - non-existent - debt from 2007! After researching "PCMA" with the cell phone listed under "Dean Perry"..........then, went to research "Worldwide Recovery" ~ and, found no such thing.
Well......this old lady called my card 800 # and nipped that mistake in the bud! Getting old ain't for the 'weak hearted'! LOL
