This is a scare tactic telephone call and they make you think that they are calling from google, which they are NOT! Do not be intimated by them. This is a scam.
My company does real localized search engine marketing. This number called our line and was forwarded to me as they "claim to be Google" calling – so I went through to talk to their representative. After one legitimate question about their shady sales tactic I was hung up on, this is definitely a scam. Unfortunately a lot of SEO companies are teetering between smoke and mirrors, if you're looking for a true professional – make sure to do your homework on the company. If the deal sounds too good, it probably is. Remember, no one can guarantee placement on Google's organic listings, so if that's what they're selling it's a scam.
I get about 10-15 of these call EACH WEEK, supposedly from Google. I repeatedly threaten to report them for violating the Do Not Call law and each tie they abruptly hang up on me. I wish someone could track down this number and have the arrested for fraud.
