The phone display read LAKE FOREST CA and this phone number. I didn't answer and a message was left about "overpaying your electric bill" and being eligible for solar energy credits. The phone number actually traces to a restaurant in Orange County, so clearly some mope was spoofing it.
I run the company that uses this number. I use false numbers otherwise people wont answer the phone. Sorry for the inconvenience. I just have to run my business that way. Expect a ton more calls.
I've received multiple calls from 1-949-454-9227, which registers as a number from Lake Forest, CA. The robo call says it is calling about high electric bills and a Federal program installing solar equipment to eliminate electric bills. When I pushed '1' to hear more about the program, the voice and name matched the robo-caller's voice and name. I asked if he could help me understand how he gets around the fact that my number is on the National 'No Call' Registry, at which point he hung up. When I called back immediately the number rang busy. Then when I called back a few minutes later, the number rang through and when it connected, a recorded message said that the number was no longer a working number or had been disconnected, even though it had connected...
