Asked for the CFO. We are division of a larger company headquartered in a different state (where the execs are). Since he didn't know the name of the person, nor the fact that we're just a small division, I presumed this was a cold-call fishing expedition and I just hung up on him.
I had the same experience with these people, they asked for the CFO's name. I asked if they needed to speak to him. they said yes, so I sent them to his extension. it went to voicemail. they called back directly and asked me for his name again. I sent them back to his voicemail. they call repeatedly asking for him and I send it directly to voicemail every time. now they have started to ask for the owner instead (found her name online, I can only assume). Ive told them to stop calling but they still call repeatedly, ignoring my request to leave us alone. they call every day multiple times per day.
