Beware of Islamic Jihad against your finances. There are many professional scamming networks out there (in addition to unaffiliated criminal networks). There is a real possibility that these scammers work in intelligence operations of Middle East governments based on the fact that their English pronunciation is often heavily accented by languages like Urdu (Pakistani), Arabic (most Middle Eastern Countries), or Farsi (Iran). Some of them are motivated by animosity to the United States based on our toppling of Iraq in 2003, the Taliban in 2001, Osama Bin Laden, and our present resistance to ISIS.
The phone number they are calling from will look like it is based in the USA but they are really calling from elsewhere just using computer technology to mask it. You should trust them like a rattlesnake. You know, you really can trust a rattlesnake to act in a certain way if you try to interact with it.
Note carefully that sometimes callers will note the caller wanted to sell one customer one thing and a different customer a different thing from the same phone number (for example, selling one person a security system and another a free vacation). It indicates they already have some information on your spending habits. The want to gather more personal identifiable information (pii) so they can raid your finances. Do not talk to them.
Sometimes they will pretend to tell you that you have won a payday loan (which you never applied for). They know you never did. They want you to call to correct the situation and in conversation get more information out of you. Do not fall for it.
