Received a message from this number stating to be "Keith M something" from "Dept of Legal Affairs" with a very strong accent. I hardly understood what he was saying. Something about retaining an attorney and if I don't call back it would be a "legal mess" for me. Then said he was looking forward to speaking with me and to have a nice day. It sounded noisy behind him like a telemarketer would sound.
Got a call from 949-783-6935. The caller claimed to be called "Michael Clarke" and to work for the legal affairs department of the US treasury. Caller had a South Asian accent. There is a warning on the webpage of the US treasury that such calls are fraudulent and try to extract money from the targeted victims.

It sounded noisy behind him like a telemarketer would sound. Looking up the number AND the dept of legal affairs, many sites and people warn of a scam. I am not calling back and if it happens to be legit, I'm sure I'll receive proper notice in the mail.

Got a message from the number 949-783-6935, the man on the message said he was David Cooper from the department of legal affairs. Had a very thick accent that was difficult to understand. Said that I needed an attorney and that if I don't call back I could have bad legal problems. Sounded fishy so I looked up the number, and yup, it's a scam.
